Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Hasnat Joarder

Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Hasnat Joarder is a senior Otorhinolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist) in Dhaka with 37 years of extensive experience in treating complex ear, nose, and throat diseases. He is highly skilled in Otology, Cochlear Implant surgery, and prevention of deafness, performing advanced ear surgeries with precision and modern techniques. His expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, sinusitis, nasal polyps, tonsillitis, adenoid problems, throat infections, and hearing disabilities in children, where he prioritizes hearing reconstruction with empathy and care. Prof. Joarder is the first Bangladeshi surgeon to successfully perform a Cochlear Implant and established the Government’s first institutional Cochlear Implant Program at BSMMU, building essential audiology and speech therapy infrastructure in Bangladesh. Alongside his clinical work, he has contributed immensely as an educator, mentor, and curriculum developer in Otolaryngology, holding key national and international leadership positions including Chairman of the Faculty of Otolaryngology at BCPS, President of the Bangladesh Society of Otology, and Member of the Executive Board of IFOS. He currently offers consultations at Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital, Dhaka.
